CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that excels in preparing you for the rigors of life outside of the gym. CrossFit RedZone is the most experienced CrossFit facility in Newtown and the surrounding area, so we understand how to safely deliver a constantly varied diet of common movement patterns; it is unlikely that you will see the same workout twice, so you will never get bored. We recognize that everyone has different fitness capabilities and because of that, there is a coach overseeing every class. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art whose central theme is the skill of controlling a resisting opponent in ways that force him to submit. Due to the fact that control is generally easier on the ground than in a standing position, much of the technique of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is centered round the skill of taking an opponent down to the ground and wrestling for dominant control positions from where the opponent can be rendered harmless. To control and overcome greater size, strength and aggression with lesser size and strength is the keynote of the sport. This is done by utilizing superior leverage, grip and position upon your opponent. Students of the sport gain a deep understanding of the workings and limits of the human body. This knowledge can be used to subdue and control an opponent with whatever level of severity the student chooses. The path to this knowledge is physically and mentally demanding. Students benefit from greatly increased physical fitness, problem-solving ability, self-knowledge of their body and mind and the many social benefits of working within a large group of like-minded fellow students as you learn and have fun together

Individual design isn’t simply a personalized exercise program. It’s taking the information and knowledge gained through an initial (and then routine) consultation, plus a movement and fitness assessment, then coupling them with the principles and creativity to create a design that will help you experience long term progression in life, sport, health, and fitness.
This program is designed to introduce kids to exercise concepts and proper movement patterns. The class duration is relatively short and its play-based curriculum is entirely geared towards teaching kids to think of exercise as FUN. Skills are focused on the very basic foundations of functional movement and age appropriate developmental motor skills for the average 5-10 years old. Our teens program has a more performance mindset in place. Along with continuing to teach proper movement patterns and exercise fundamentals, this program will teach your teenager how to be explosive and powerful in whatever athletic endeavor they choose to participate in. On top of that, because the workouts are constantly varied, they are less likely to fall prey to the overuse injuries that plague common training routines and year round sports.
